Job Title : Safety Officer
Job Role:
Supervise the duties related to Health & Safety activities which are conducted by Safety Technicians working for Project activities, including
· Inspection and maintenance of all safety and fire-fighting equipment in the plant on routine basis,
·
Worksite / Project site inspection and stand-by duties,
·
Ensuring appropriate waste management practices are being
followed and that necessary industrial hygiene is maintained at worksite
inspection and stand-by duties,
·
Effective implementation of Work permit system and Work
Management System (WMS)
·
Periodic inspection and auditing to ensure compliance to
Client (Oil and Gas) HSE standards for Project activities mainly Operation Safety (OS)
standards
·
Reporting Site Safety Inspection / Audit findings to
management and ensuring closeout of the actions
· Coordinating with Contractor Safety team and ensuring effective and sufficient safety team mobilisation by Contractor including meeting the ADNOC HSE operation safety requirements.
·
Ensure the Technician Safety’s coverage with respect to
plant operation work demands and organizing the workforce for day/night shifts
and emergencies
·
Supervise and maintain record for all inventories of
safety and fire-fighting equipment to ensure their operational serviceability
and readiness during routine and emergency situations
·
Provide back-up support in emergencies to Turnaround
Contractors, Plant Operations Division and Das Island Fire Service in
fire-fighting, gas cloud control, gas dispersions and leaks, search and rescue
operation and in administering first aid
·
Ensure Project Contractor provides all the
provisions of standby facilities for hot work, naked flame work plant vessel
entry and Red Zone mandatory personal H2S detectors and Emergency Escape
Breathing Apparatus (EEBAs)
· Supervise, maintain a record of safety inspections for Project activities
·
Carry out patrolling of radiography work-sites, gas
testing, use thermal radiation monitor to check the area and ensure no
unauthorised personnel or contractors enter the hazard zone
·
Coordinate with Learning and Development Department (Das
TC) and prepare training equipment and ensure their readiness for the training
sessions and drill demonstrations
· Fire-fighting equipment inspections, housekeeping and PPE surveys
A. Minimum Experience
·
5 years of experience in Safety and Fire-fighting
experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical installations.
B. Knowledge & Skills
·
Good interpersonal and coordination skills.
·
Effective communication skills.
·
Good attention to detail, analytical, and decision-making
ability.
·
Valid UAE Driving Licence.
C. Professional Certifications
·
Accredited Safety/HSE Diploma (NEBOSH etc).
