The Refrigeration Technician will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration systems in commercial and residential settings. They will diagnose issues, perform necessary repairs, and ensure refrigeration systems are functioning optimally. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills, be detail-oriented, and have a solid understanding of refrigeration systems and components.
Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, freezers, refrigerated display units, and ice machines.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with refrigeration systems and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
Conduct routine maintenance on refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
Test refrigeration systems for leaks and monitor pressures, temperatures, and electrical currents.
Calibrate and adjust thermostatic controls and other components to maintain desired temperatures.
Document all service and repair activities, including parts used, time spent, and recommendations for improvements.
Provide guidance and support to customers on operating and maintaining refrigeration systems properly.
Comply with safety regulations and ensure that work is performed according to industry standards.
Stay updated on new technologies and industry trends in refrigeration systems.
Collaborate with other technicians and team members to solve complex issues.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Refrigeration technician certification or relevant trade qualification.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in refrigeration system installation and repair.
Strong understanding of refrigeration systems and components.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
