Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchase Manager with 10+ years of experience in the building materials trading sector. The ideal candidate will have exclusive knowledge of the market, specializing in the procurement of building materials, hardware products, and timber items. The Purchase Manager will play a key role in leading the purchasing team, negotiating with suppliers, ensuring cost-effective procurement strategies, and maintaining optimum inventory levels.

 

Key Responsibilities


  • Procurement Management: Oversee and manage the full procurement process, ensuring the timely purchase of materials, hardware, and timber products.
  • Supplier Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and cost-effective purchasing.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain optimal inventory levels, minimizing stockouts while reducing excess inventory and related costs.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team to ensure efficiency and high performance.
  • Cost Optimization: Implement cost-effective procurement strategies and identify opportunities to reduce overall purchasing expenses.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all purchased materials meet the required quality standards and handle any supplier-related issues or discrepancies.
  • Market Analysis: Continuously monitor market trends and product availability to make informed purchasing decisions that benefit the organization.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with sales, logistics, and other departments to ensure seamless operations and timely delivery of materials.



Qualifications & Requirements:


  • Minimum 10 years of experience in building materials procurement, with strong knowledge of the market, especially in hardware products and timber.
  • Proven experience in supplier negotiation, cost management, and inventory control.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
  • A degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
