Lead Data Scientist

The Lead Data Scientist is responsible for driving the strategic application of data science and advanced analytics to solve complex business challenges and enable data-driven decision-making. This leadership role involves managing a team of data scientists, designing machine learning models, overseeing data pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. The Lead Data Scientist ensures that all solutions are scalable, aligned with business goals, and compliant with data protection regulations in the UAE.

Responsibilities:

• Leading the development and deployment of advanced machine learning models and predictive analytics to address key business problems.

• Overseeing the collection, cleaning, and preprocessing of large datasets from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and integrity.

• Collaborating with business units, product managers, and engineers to translate business objectives into data science solutions.

• Mentoring and guiding a team of data scientists, providing technical leadership and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

• Defining project roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.

• Evaluating new data science tools and technologies, and integrating them into existing workflows where appropriate.

• Presenting data insights and model outcomes to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.

• Ensuring all data science practices align with UAE data privacy and cybersecurity regulations.

Requirements:

• Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.

• Minimum of 6–8 years of experience in data science roles, including at least 2 years in a leadership or team management position.

• Strong expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data mining techniques.

• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and common ML libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and big data tools (Spark, Hadoop, etc.).

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Knowledge of UAE data protection laws and compliance requirements.
