Job Description

The Inventory Controller - Retail is responsible for managing and monitoring inventory levels, ensuring product availability, and maintaining accurate stock records in a retail environment. This role involves coordinating with procurement, sales, and logistics teams to optimize inventory flow, reduce wastage, and support effective business operations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and hands-on experience with inventory management systems to drive operational efficiency.


Responsibilities:

  • monitor and control inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability and minimize stockouts

  • maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, and adjustments

  • perform regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies with system records

  • collaborate with procurement and sales teams to forecast demand and manage replenishment cycles

  • implement inventory management processes to optimize stock turnover and reduce waste

  • generate detailed reports on inventory performance, trends, and key metrics for management review

  • ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and health and safety regulations

  • coordinate with warehouse staff to improve inventory handling, storage practices, and organization

  • identify and resolve issues related to stock discrepancies, expired products, or damaged goods

  • support system upgrades and process improvements for more efficient inventory management


Requirements:

  • bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field

  • proven experience in inventory control or management, preferably in a retail environment

  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail

  • proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word)

  • excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively

  • ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • knowledge of retail operations, supply chain processes, and quality standards is preferred
