The HSE Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the company’s strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. This role involves developing and implementing policies, procedures, and programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. The HSE specialist will work with management to identify potential hazards and develop proactive measures to prevent accidents, injuries, and illnesses.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with local regulations and company standards
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding safety, health, and the environment
• Monitor and evaluate workplace practices and procedures to identify potential hazards and provide recommendations for corrective action
• Conduct regular HSE audits, inspections, and trainings to promote a strong safety culture within the organization
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and provide recommendations to prevent reoccurrence
• Maintain records and documentation of HSE activities, including incident reports, training records, and safety data sheets
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement best practices for HSE management
• Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness and response capabilities
• Communicate HSE expectations and company policies to employees and contractors
• Monitor industry developments and best practices to continuously improve HSE standards within the company
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar HSE role
• Comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal HSE regulations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Proven experience in developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures
• Familiarity with HSE management systems and auditing processes
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Relevant certifications such as OSHA, NEBOSH, or ISO 14001 are a plus
