Job Description

An Automotive Service Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the operations of an automotive service department. They ensure the delivery of high-quality repairs and maintenance services to customers. The manager supervises a team of technicians, assigns work orders, and monitors the progress and quality of work. They must have excellent leadership and communication skills to motivate and guide the team effectively. Additionally, the manager interacts with customers to understand their service needs, provide estimates, and address any concerns or complaints. They also handle administrative tasks, such as inventory management, cost control, and performance tracking.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the service department.
  • Supervise and support a team of automotive technicians, assigning work orders and providing guidance when needed.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality service and resolving any issues or complaints.
  • Interact with customers to understand their service needs, provide accurate estimates, and answer inquiries.
  • Monitor the progress and quality of repairs and maintenance services to ensure timely completion and compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date service records, including repair orders, warranties, and customer information.
  • Manage inventory levels and order parts and supplies to meet service demands.
  • Implement and enforce safety regulations and maintenance procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Analyze service department performance data, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Train and develop technicians to enhance their technical skills and customer service abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in automotive technology, business management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Previous experience in an automotive service management role or similar position.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
