Optical Lab Technician

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Optical Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting, repairing, and maintaining eyeglasses and lenses according to prescriptions provided by optometrists and ophthalmologists. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to quality control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabricate and assemble prescription eyeglasses and contact lenses using specialized equipment.
• Perform lens cutting, edging, grinding, and polishing to ensure accurate prescriptions.
• Operate and maintain automated and manual optical lab machinery.
• Inspect finished lenses for quality control, accuracy, and defects before assembly.
• Mount and fit lenses into frames with precision and attention to detail.
• Perform lens tinting, coatings, and other enhancements as required.
• Ensure compliance with optical industry standards and safety regulations.
• Repair and adjust damaged or misaligned eyeglass frames.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the lab.
• Collaborate with optometrists, sales associates, and other lab technicians to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); a certificate or diploma in Optical Technology is a plus.
• Prior experience in an optical lab or eyewear manufacturing (preferred).
• Knowledge of optical equipment, lens materials, and prescription interpretation.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities..
• Experience with digital lens surfacing technology.
• Familiarity with different lens coatings and materials.
